Kindness ~ A Class Act

Hurry, hurry step right up. Come and see some amazing things, in a world where people are looking out for others and their eyes are open to the opportunity of helping others.   See the man holding the door open for the woman with too many groceries in her arms. Watch the lady give her last 10 dollars to a stranger in need, on the street.  Come and see a child sit by the new kid at school during lunch.  They are not looking for recognition, or for anything in return, they do it out of the kindness of their heart.  They are not asking questions about, “why should I give this money to you” or judging whether they deserve it or not.   They see an opportunity to help a fellow human and they take action to make a difference.   Step into a world and be amazed at how someone can set their ego aside to help someone who may be down on their luck.  They are not concerned with looking foolish or afraid to talk to the person; they are glad to be able to help. Watch how their act inspires another to do the same.

These Acts of Kindness leave a lasting impression on the recipient.  Maya Angelou said it best, “People won’t remember what you said, people won’t remember what you did, but they will always remember how you made them feel.”  It also warms the hearts of both and they walk away from each other having made a positive impression on each other.  With a renewed faith in humanity.

Come closer and listen to what the man who is down on his luck says when the lady gives him a 10 dollar bill.  He takes it gracefully and looks in her eyes and says, “I Love You, God Bless You.”  Watch again, how the woman is touched by his words and her eyes well up with tears as she says, “God Bless You too and take care of yourself.”  Her whole day, just took on a new perspective.  One that makes her grateful for what she has, and happy that she could make someone’s day a little bit brighter.

The opportunity for Kindness is all around us. Today, look for an opportunity to be part of a Class Act.
